Internationalization of Brazilian companies

Internationalization is an important strategy for expanding a company and reducing the risks experienced by fluctuations in the internal economy.

Companies that open up to the foreign market go far beyond new sales, they also open up to new opportunities such as the possibility of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures and, mainly, brand consolidation. Although it is still believed that it is a strategy aimed at large companies, MSEs account for a significant number of Brazilian exports and can also benefit from the advantages of internationalization.

Regardless of how the company positions itself internationally, there are different advantages in each case: possibility of cost reduction, through tax incentives offered by other countries for the installation of foreign companies; access to new markets to sell surplus production or improve idle capacity and thus not be dependent solely on the domestic market; acquire knowledge (technological and innovation) from international partners, making the company much more competitive and prepared for its markets; find more economical inputs for the production of products for sale on the domestic market and for subsequent export; between others.

The important thing is to establish a culture where international relations are part of the company's objectives and to structure a strategic plan that covers all the needs involved. To do this, the company must carry out an extensive study of which markets have the greatest affinity with its objectives and products/services. Business rounds and sector events help a lot in commercial relations and information exchange, in addition to Chambers of Commerce. Furthermore, specialized advice can be very welcome in providing important industry guidelines.
